Our Process

  • Each event is unique and requires a different set of preparations. After many years of performing, we have grown to believe that the single biggest factor in the quality of an event is the quality of the planning and preparation. Duo Post Prelude seeks to provide value beyond simply playing music, but also in ensuring our functionality within the context of your event while giving you peace of mind.

  • Before any event is even planned, we are constantly in a state of development. Rehearsals, recording sessions, new music research, personal practice, and the research, acquisition, and maintenance of gear are all regular parts of our routine. We look to improve our musicianship, performance ability, and production quality at every step of the way.

  • When an event gets planned, we are first contacted by you and exchange important information to make the logistics possible. Things required to ensure proper planning include dates, location, types of events, etc. (Our contact forms provide a convenient platform to share this information.) We want to be sure to provide your event with the correct desired atmosphere. At this point, we can have a good estimate on our pricing.

  • Additionally, we will work out details pertaining to moments outside of the event: things like our travel, potential overnight stays, and any possible additional supplements to our performance. An example of these supplements can be a sound guy and sound equipment who will serve the production of our performance, as well as the production of other moments in the event. Again, each event is unique.

  • Once these “non-musical” things are taken care of, we go into planning our music specific to this event. We have a large selection of music in our repertoire from many styles including Spanish, classical, pop, gypsy, jazz, oldies, waltz, and others, all arranged to fit our guitar duo style. We carefully design and rehearse our setlist based on the needs of the event such as the time required to perform, desired atmosphere, and special requests!

  • At the time of the event we look to promote kindness, excellence, and professionalism in our performance, setup, and personal interactions. This event is yours and we are here to help to bring its prestige to another level!

    Alex Pylypiv

    Born in Ukraine, Alex moved to the United States at a young age and was raised by a family who surrounded him with a deep love for music. He started playing guitar at 8 years old and went on to win first place at the National Fine Arts Festival in 2012. Since then, he has been performing with countless bands, churches, and organizations as both a performing artist and a recording session guitarist.

    Alex holds his own when it comes to collecting watches. He enjoys always wearing a high-quality watch of excellent craftsmanship and unique character.

    Tim Skalsky

    Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio to a Ukrainian family, Tim has spent the entirety of his life around people who love to sing and play instruments. He started learning piano at age seven and violin and guitar at age nine. Ultimately, the guitar became the specialty. Playing with different groups and churches, Tim eventually went on to take fourth place at the National Fine Arts Festival in 2014. Since then, he has been learning the ins and outs of musical performance in all kinds of settings as well as the technical side of live audio processing.

    Tim has also been practicing various grappling arts since 12 years old and is currently ranked as a purple belt in BJJ.
